Wireless Configuration for Mac OS X (10.3+)

I. System Requirements Verification

  • You must have Mac OS X 10.3 (panther) or higher. How do I check?
  • Your Mac should already have an Airport card installed.
  • Your Airport card must be turned on.

II. Configuring Your System

  • From the desktop, click on the Airport icon in the top right corner.
  • Select Open Internet Connect.

    Mac Wireless
  • If the 802.1X icon is present, select it and skip steps 1-2 below.
    1. Select File from the menu at the top of the screen.
    2. Select New 802.1X Connection.
  • Click on the Configuration drop-down menu, and select Edit Configuration.
  • Configure the settings to look as follows: (Note: Be sure that "PEAP" is the only protocol checked.)

    Mac Wireless

    1. User Name field: type in your SLU e-mail without @slu.edu
    2. Password field: type in your new SLUNET ID password.
  • Click Connect.
  • Close Internet Connect.

You should be connected to the wireless network. If you still cannot connect, then you've most likely entered the wrong password. Not sure what it is? Try logging into Banner here. The password you use to login to Banner is the same as the password for your wireless connection. Once you have verified your password, try logging out, then logging back in again.

Still not connected?

After verifying all the above steps, please stop by the ITS Help Desk located in the main law school computer lab, room 246.
