Administrative Access

In order to take advantage of Saint Louis University’s technical services, you will need to have administrative access on your personal laptop.  Most laptops have this configured by default; however, some students bring laptops from their workplace, and often these work-maintained laptops have restrictions placed on them to prevent changes from being made.  These restrictions may prevent software and services from functioning properly.

If you purchased a personal computer from a “big-box” retail store or online, you will probably have administrative access on your laptop.  If you are bringing a laptop from your work, you may need to check with your work’s IT department to find out if you have administrative access.

Note:  Law School ITS will not, under any circumstances, attempt to override administrative restrictions placed on a student’s personal or work-owned laptop.
