It's that time of year again! 1098-Ts, W-2s, and more...tax forms are appearing in your inbox and mailbox. If you've never filed an income tax return yourself or have questions about more specific tax topics, this session is for you.
We'll review the various federal income tax forms, tackle confusing jargon, explore the education-related benefits that you might qualify for as a law student, and review the federal tax changes to anticipate for 2018.
Law Students for Life will host Sarah Pitlyk, special counsel for the Thomas More Society, who will speak on a current litigation issue impacting St. Louis. The Thomas More Society has brought a federal lawsuit challenging a St. Louis City ordinance, which purports to prohibit discrimination in employment or housing on the basis of reproductive health decisions. Lunch will be provided.
Admitted Student Day is a full day of activities designed to help you to get an idea of what it is like to be a SLU LAW student. You will have the chance to tour our building; sit in on a law class; meet some of our students, faculty members and alumni; and learn about the programs and opportunities at SLU LAW.
