Constitution Day Discussion

On Monday, September 17, the School of Law will celebrate Constitution Day with a discussion of recent developments in constitutional law being organized by Prof. Goldstein, together with Prof. Bloom. All students are encouraged to attend and see the strength of our faculty in consitutional law!

Thank You to the Stand Down Volunteers

Thanks to the 30 students who participated in the Veterans Stand Down on September 8. It was a great turnout. Twenty lawyers came from Simmons Cooper and partnered with the students.

Judges needed for Annual Billiken Barrister Invitational Tournament

Annual 5k Run and 3k Walk Registration Begins

Join lawyers, law students and friends of public interest for a run to benefit the Summer Fellowship Fund. Registration is from Noon-1 and 5-6 p.m. everyday from Sept.19 through 28. Registration includes race day t-shirt, food and entry into a drawing for prizes donated by LexisNexis and Westlaw (drawing open only to SLU law students)

Registration: $15 (before Sept 27)/ $20 (Sept 27-race day)
- Free registration for law students who register 3 non-law students.

Ignite Leadership Retreat

Take some time to learn about yourself – assess your strengths and learn how to use them to build your leadership skills. At the Ignite Leadership Retreat in Eureka, Missouri, you’ll work in small groups with experienced SLU student leaders to discuss issues related to leadership and take part in experiential activities. It’s a great opportunity to network with other students who want to make a difference.

Federalist Socieity Talk on Private-Sector Courts & a Market for Law: Libertarian Fantasy or Growing Reality?

Stephen J. Ware, Professor of Law at the University of Kansas, will be giving the talk, "Private-Sector Courts & a Market for Law: Libertarian Fantasy or Growing Reality?" Ware is the author of the Hornbook on Alternative Dispute Resolution (West 2001), and dozens of articles in both scholarly and popular journals. A versatile teacher, he has taught at six law schools including the University of Kansas, the College of William & Mary, the Ohio State University, the University of Alabama, Hamline University and Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where he was a faculty member for ten years. In addition to teaching a wide variety of law school courses, Professor Ware is a frequent speaker at academic conferences and Continuing Legal Education programs from coast-to-coast.

Happy Hour - The Sports and Entertainment Law Association is inviting all students and friends to join us at the rBar on Manchester to watch the Cardinals play during the last week of the regular season. Weekly Mass

A weekly mass takes place on Wednesdays. All are welcome to attend this half-hour prayer opportunity. In addition, Campus Ministry sponsors a variety of communal prayer experiences throughout the academic year, including periodic interfaith prayer services.
