Nominations for Student of the Year
The Student Bar Association is accepting nominations for the Jaime Ramirez Student of the Year Award. The honor is given annually to a SLU LAW student who possesses strength of character, leadership abilities and focuses his or her attention on making a difference in the world. This award is not based on academic achievement or organizational affiliation. All members of the student body are eligible for consideration and may be nominated by their peers. Nominations must be submitted to the SBA office by Friday, March 20.
Registration Advising Session for 1Ls
Felisha McCaster, Prof. Herleth and Dean Rollins will offer strategies and the nuts and bolts of registering for summer and fall classes. Students are welcome to bring lunch and eat during the session.

Feminist Fundamentalism Lecture
Professor Mary Anne Case from The University of Chicago Law School will present "Feminist Fundamentalism,” which is the working title of a larger project she is researching. The Monday lecture will focus on how an extremely rigorous sex-blind approach to the law would deal with issues pertaining to women's (religious) veiling practices and other conflicts between religious liberty, accommodation and sexual equality.

Clinic Informational Sessions

Law Library Legal Research Brown Bag Series
What if your first assignment at a new firm is to locate German statutes dealing with Service of Process? During "How to Locate Foreign Legal Materials," Peggy McDermott, head of Reference Services, will teach students how to locate the legislation, codes and court decisions of foreign countries. And you’ll also learn how to locate English translations when they are available.

Food for Thought Speaker
Jason D. Fauss, ’05, attorney and founder of Fauss Law, specializes in bankruptcy, criminal law, family law and traffic law. Animal Law and Environmental Law Monthly Meeting
The speaker will be from the Wild Canid Center and there will be free lunch (and it’s not pizza.)

WLSA’s Third Annual Chili Cook-Off
Get together with your student organization or group of friends and enter the chili cook-off to win great prizes. Team entry fees are $5 (teams are responsible for the cost of chili ingredients.) And for only $3, you can taste unlimited bowls of chili! All proceeds will benefit the Women’s Safehouse. Weekly Mass
A weekly mass takes place on Tuesdays. All are welcome to attend this half-hour prayer opportunity. Campus Ministry also sponsors a variety of communal prayer experiences throughout the academic year, including periodic interfaith prayer services.

Prayer Room
Don’t forget about the Prayer Room next to the Campus Ministry office. It is open and available as a quiet place of reflection (and refuge!) whenever the School of Law building is open.
