SLWA Award Winner

Congratulations to Thomas B. Harvey, 2L of Saint Louis University, recipient of the 2008 Writing Excellence Award sponsored by the Student Legal Writers’ Association during the first all-law student Symposium on April 18. Mr. Harvey’s paper, "Preventing Private Military Contractors from Wrapping Themselves in the American Flag: The Role the Alien Tort Statute Can Play in Increasing Contractor Accountability and Improving U.S. Foreign Relations," can be read in its entirety here.

Congratulations to Professor McGraugh and Clinic Students

Please join in congratulating Professor Sue McGraugh and her students in the
Criminal Defense Clinic on obtaining an acquittal in a three-day felony
jury trial. The jury was out only one hour and 15 minutes before returning the not-guilty verdict. Many of our students helped with the trial, and many others got to observe a great trial lawyer.
