Guidelines for the Submission of Manuscripts

The Saint Louis University Public Law Review accepts submissions of manuscripts, commentaries, and book reviews. The Public Law Review carefully considers all submissions that it receives. In addition to all general topics of public interest and public policy, the Public Law Review is currently accepting articles discussing Constitutional issues and International Law for publication in Issue No. 2 of Volume XXVI, tentatively titled "Toward a New Global Constitutionalism? America , International Law and the Courts."

Please complete the following steps:

  1. To submit a manuscript to the below address. You may send by mail a hard copy accompanied with disk, by fax, or by e-mail. If you send a hard copy by fax, we ask that you send a copy by e-mail as well.
  2. All manuscripts must be typed; double-spaced; and on 8.5" x 11" paper.
  3. Files should be prepared in MSWord format or Word Perfect.
  4. Please use footnotes rather than endnotes. Footnotes should conform to the Seventeenth Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
  5. Please include a brief biography of each author. The biography should state only the author's present title and institutional/ corporation affiliation.

On receipt, the editors will not acknowledge the submission of manuscripts, unless at the request of the author. Decisions to accept or reject papers are based on the editor's judgment. The evaluation process generally takes four to six weeks. Accepted manuscripts will be published as quickly as possible, usually within three to eight months of acceptance.

If you require expedited review of your submission because you have already been made an offer by another journal, please contact us immediately by phone, fax, or e-mail. Do not send this request by mail, as we are unlikely to receive the request in a timely fashion. Please be prepared to provide (1) the author's name and contact information, (2) title of submission, and (3) the date by which you need a response.

For file purposes, the Public Law Review retains all papers submitted for consideration. Copies are not returned to an author unless the author so requests in writing and supplies the Law Review with a return address envelope and adequate postage.

Thank you for your interest in the Public Law Review

Please send article submissions to:
