What area of health law most interests you and why? As I am just starting my focus in health law, I am enjoying learning about all areas of the law. This summer I had the opportunity to focus on the area of disability law and found it very interesting.

What do you hope to achieve through the study and/or practice of health law? I hope to gain a better understanding of the obstacles facing the health care industry and learn techniques to better serve both the individuals treated and the professionals working within the field.

What has been your favorite health law class and why? I am currently taking Health Law, which I find quite interesting. I also enjoyed my Civil Procedure, Torts and Constitutional Law classes as a 1L. These classes stood out for me because I found the subject matter intriguing, and the professors worked quite hard to make the subject matter come alive in the classroom and illustrated the practical application of the material.

What is your favorite thing about SLU’s health law program? My favorite thing is that SLU’s health law program offers numerous opportunities to gain knowledge. From the speakers to the symposium, health law research to the Journal of Health Law & Policy, there are numerous ways to increase one’s understanding of the field and receive a well-rounded perspective on the latest developments in health care law.

Who was the best speaker you’ve heard speak, what did they speak on, and why were they the best? I have enjoyed all the speakers that I have heard. I appreciate the wide range of speakers that are brought in to discuss the health care industry. The speakers are a great way to gain information about areas of the law in which one might be interested.
