What area of health law most interests you and why? With an international law focus in addition to health law, I am very interested in exploring the field of comparative health law to learn what other countries are doing with their health care systems in the hope of using that knowledge to help improve our own system. Otherwise, I am interested in beginning my health law studies with an open mind to discover in which area I’ll find my calling.
What do you hope to achieve through the study and/or practice of health law? I hope to explore solutions to the obstacles standing between millions of Americans and adequate, affordable health care.
What has been your favorite law school class? I really enjoyed Constitutional Law because it taught me just how much politics and law can be influenced by each other. As a political science major who hopes to affect health care policy in the future, this was an important lesson to learn.
What is your favorite thing about SLU’s health law program? The fact that the program is large affords students the opportunity to learn from the diverse faculty and a large group of colleagues heading into health care practice.
Who was the best speaker you’ve heard speak, what did they speak on, and why were they the best? Bill Sarraille, who spoke about pharmaceutical fraud, because he made it really easy to understand a topic with which I had no prior experience.
