What area of health law most interests you and why? I am interested primarily in biotechnology patents. I think that it would be incredibly rewarding to work with individuals who are bringing valuable developments to the field of science and to help them protect their interest in the inventions. Another area of health law that interests me quite a bit is provider liability.

What do you hope to achieve through the study and/or practice of health law? I am interested in intellectual property and antitrust issues that affect pharmaceutical and medical industries. I hope that my studies in health law will enable me to better understand and anticipate the needs of clients and will lead me to a successful career as a patent attorney.

What has been your favorite health law class and why? If not applicable yet, what has been your favorite law school class and why? So far, my favorite class has been the Biotechnology and Health Law Seminar. It was very interesting to explore ethical and legal issues that arise with developments in the field of biotechnology.

What is your favorite thing about SLU’s health law program? My favorite things about the SLU health law program are, without a doubt, the excellent faculty and great variety of health law courses that allow students an opportunity to explore various areas of health law. I am also looking forward to the Distinguished Speaker Series.
