XIV. ACCOMMODATIONS POLICY

  1. Introduction

Consistent with its mission as part of a Catholic, Jesuit University and with federal law, Saint Louis University School of Law is committed to providing an inclusive environment, responsive to the needs of all students. In so doing it is guided by the mission statement of the University, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, state and local statutes and ordinances, and all applicable regulations.

The following policy is promulgated to ensure that the School provides reasonable accommodations for the known disabilities of otherwise qualified students who request such accommodations. It is important to note that the diagnosis and documentation of an impairment does not entitle a student to an accommodation. Rather, the impact of the impairment on the student’s ability to perform in class and on the examinations must be appropriately determined.
