V. ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

  1. Full-Time Program of Study

    Students admitted to the full-time program of study generally complete their law degree in three years, taking between 15 and 17 credit hours each fall and spring semester, and a maximum of 6 credit hours during the summer semester.

    Classes in the full-time program of study are scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 6:00pm, with an occasional electives scheduled on Saturdays or in the evening if taught by working adjunct faculty.

    Students in the full-time program of study generally complete their required core curriculum in two semesters by taking courses in the day as follows:

    Contracts I (3 hours) Contracts II (2 hours)
    Civil Procedure I (2 hours) Civil Procedure II (3 hours)
    Legal Research & Writing I (3 hours) Legal Research & Writing (3 hours)
    Torts (4 hours) Constitutional law I (3 hours)
    Criminal Law (3 hours) Property (4 hours)

    All students in the full-time program of study take Legal Profession in the spring semester of their second year. Scheduling of other upper division courses is described in Chapter 11.
