III. LAW SCHOOL PREMISES

  1. Use

Generally, the law school facilities are available to students and faculty without restrictions. However, there are a few limitations which are designed to balance the interests and needs of individuals with those of the law school community. Listed below are current guidelines and rules governing the use of the law school premises.

Students may request to use rooms located in Morrissey Hall for student organization meetings or other group activities related to the law school by completing a Room Reservation Form available online at http://law.slu.edu/forms/roomrequest/index.html, or in paper form available from Julie Orr in Queen’s Daughters, Room 220, or e-mailing Julie Orr at jorr5@slu.edu with the date of the event, name, room size, room request, number of people, and food/beverage request, Requests must be received by noon on Wednesday the week before the event, but will not be accepted more than 30 days in advance. Organizations and individuals are responsible for cleaning up after the event and returning the room to its original setting.

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, except that a reservation may be canceled in favor of official law school functions. Students may not schedule organizational meetings that conflict with School of Law scheduled events without prior approval from Dianne Morris, morrisd@slu.edu, 977-2789. Students are welcome to use any room for individual or study groups, but may not reserve rooms for these purposes and may be asked to vacate the room if it is needed for official University business.

The facilities, other than the library, are generally open from 6:00 a.m. to one hour past library closing. All exterior doors are locked after 6:00 p.m. Monday- Friday, and all weekends. Students and visitors must have a valid University I.D. card to gain entrance to the Law School when the exterior doors are locked. A security card reader is available on the doors to the Vincent C. Immel Atrium to provide access to the Law School.
