American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) Fellowships for Study in USA |
The ASF offers funding to Scandinavians to undertake study or research programs (usually at the graduate level) in the United States for up to one year. Candidates for awards are recommended to the ASF by their cooperating organizations. In order to apply, submit applications to the appropriate cooperative organization (see below). Awards are made in all fields. Applicants must be citizens of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden. The number and size of awards granted annually varies widely between countries. Contact the ASF’s cooperating organizations for specific information regarding eligibility, award size and application deadlines.

McNamara Memorial Fund |
This fund awards educational grants to women from developing countries whose graduate studies and future plans aim to benefit women and children in their respective regions. Applicants must reside in the U.S. or Canada at the time they submit their applications, return to their home countries or another developing country within approximately 30 months after receiving their grants, and upon returning, perform at least two years of service in their country or another developing country. An applicant must be qualified for admission to full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in a college or university in the United States or Canada. A student holding citizenship or permanent residency of the United States or Canada is ineligible. Scholarships are not given for research, internships, practical training or travel. In order to qualify, an applicant must have a full year of coursework remaining and be enrolled on campus for the entire school year.
