Sometimes finances just get the best of us.  There are resources that can help.  Consumer credit counseling agencies are available for free to consumers in financial straits.  The counselors will work with students to develop a debt management plan.  They also work saving and retirement planning into the monthly budget.  Do not seek the assistance of an agency promising to lower payments, lower interest rate or charges a fee.  If your bank does not offer free consumer credit counseling, try some of the following resources:
