Assistant Dean for Student Services

Jon Baris became the Assistant Dean for Student Services at SLU LAW in 2009. Prior to that position, Dean Baris served as the Assistant Director of the Career Services Office at the SLU LAW.

Dean Baris received his B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his J.D. from Washington University. He began his legal career as an associate at the Baris Law Firm in St. Louis and later moved on to Legal Services of Eastern Missouri (LSEM).

As a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Dean Baris served as an elected representative on the Young Lawyers Section Council for six years. Dean Baris is actively involved with the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL). He served on the BAMSL Young Lawyer Division (YLD) Executive Committee for six years, including as BAMSL YLD Chairperson for the 2005-2006 bar year. Dean Baris has also served on the BAMSL Board of Governors since 2004 and is currently the BAMSL Treasurer.

In addition to his service to various bar associations, Dean Baris is active with the Jewish Federation of St. Louis, Washington University School of Law alumni associations, and is a board member of St. Louis Hillel. Dean Baris was the recipient of the 2001 Volunteer Lawyer Award from LSEM, is a former advisory board member of Gateway to Financial Fitness, and a former volunteer big brother with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater St. Louis.
