Study Abroad Saint Louis University law students have available to them multiple opportunities to gain experience in a foreign culture by studying abroad. The Center for International and Comparative Law pairs students with outstanding opportunities to study law with two of the world’s foremost foreign law faculties in two of the world's most exotic countries: Université d'Orléans and Université Paris, Dauphine in France and University College Cork in Ireland. Immersed in their host country’s life and culture, students studying at Cork, Orléans and Paris, receive credit toward their J.D. degrees while studying with local students in classes offered as regular components of the host faculty’s curriculum. Additionally, the Ruhr-Universität in Bochum, Germany, offers research fellowships to Saint Louis University law students who wish to engage in research in German law for a period of up to three months at the Ruhr-Universität. And, students can spend the summer in Spain through the Summer Law Program in Madrid or in Germany through the Summer Law Program in Berlin. The programs provide summer classes in Madrid or Berlin for students from the School of Law and other law schools both within and outside the United States. The Center for International and Comparative Law coordinates the studies undertaken by Saint Louis University law students while abroad. This includes providing academic counseling to assist students in combining studies abroad and studies at home into a well-balanced program of legal education. |
