Cover Letter Check List

- ZERO errors-must be perfect!

- Cover letter paper and resume should match.

- Correct grammar, good sentence structure and standard business format (this is a sample of your writing skills).

- Include your return address, e-mail, phone and zip code, should your letter become separated from the resume.

- Date and sign the letter.

- Address the letter to a specific person using the complete and correct name, title, company/firm name, street address, city, state and zip code. If you don't know, call to find out.

- Make sure to address the employer's needs in the letter rather than why the position would be good for you.

- Ask for an interview & follow-up regarding all correspondence.
