When: Ceremony begins at 6 p.m., reception immediately following in Queens Daughter’s Hall
Join Mark Moran (Class of 1986) as he discusses his legal thriller The Redeemer based on the case Waldemer v. US (98 F.3d 306 (7th Cir.1996)).

Book Synopsis: Legal Thriller; based on a true story. Michael McRain, a young Harvard trained attorney, who left behind his bloody career in the Marine Corps, is unwillingly appointed to represent the most dangerous union leader since Jimmy Hoffa and is sucked into a storm of greed fostered by a secret lawyer mafia that is run with the government's blessing. McRain is haunted by guilt for his past, for what he failed to do. But a doting autistic sister who prays day and night, mafia and government assassins, and a forbidden love affair test the character of McRain as he battles to defend his uncooperative client and set the record right with his ghosts of guilt. Through his quest, McRain discovers the shocking truth of who killed Jimmy Hoffa and why. Excerpts from a future book reveal actual federal documents showing the existence of United States lawyers involved in a secret organized crime ring. The author did represent a union official in the United States Supreme Court.

Join SLU LAW alumni and friends for a 5K Run/ 3K Walk to benefit the Public Interest Law Group. Participants receive a T-shirt, refreshments and a chance a various prizes.
