Anne Cooper '04 Hometown: St. Louis, MO Place of Employment: Associate, Foley & Lardner LLP; Chicago Why Saint Louis University School of Law? I worked for BJC HealthCare for several years and wanted to pursue a career in health law. I looked at other health law programs, and to me, there was no comparison. Your Best Experience at the School: The people I met and the friends I made. I came to law school with the expectation of receiving my J.D. and meeting a few people; however, the friends I made in law school are some of my best and closest friends. The experience is one that no one can truly understand or appreciate except those who go through it, and I was privileged to go through law school with some of the best people I have ever known. What are Some Outcomes of a School of Law Education? The professors, especially the adjunct faculty, truly prepare you for what it will be like to practice in the real world. I feel that my classes, particularly in health law, provided me with the education and skills necessary to succeed. Who Was Your Favorite Professor? All of my professors contributed in various ways to my success both in and outside the classroom, and to that I am extremely grateful. However, if I had to choose one, it would have to be Professor Joel Goldstein. He was my contracts professor first year and made the first few weeks of law school, when nothing seemed to make sense, bearable by assuring us that every day, things would get better. He is not only an excellent teacher, but his dedication to his students exemplifies the commitment of the faculty to the success of the students. Extracurricular Interests: Traveling, biking. |
