Saint Louis Brief

Financial Assistance for Evening Program Students

Because it is part time, the Evening Program is a very affordable way for everyone to attend law school. Saint Louis University School of Law students in the Evening Program have several financial aid and loan resources available to help meet law school expenses.

The Saint Louis University Office of Scholarship/Financial Aid and the School of Law Financial Aid Coordinator can assist in planning how to pay for a legal education. Similar to full-time students, federal student aid such as Stafford Loans, which provide long-term, low-interest loans, are available to part-time students. The process begins with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which can be filed on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. For those whose needs exceed the basic student loans, alternative, non-federal loans are also available. Some evening students may qualify for scholarships, which can help with part or all of their costs. Students also are encouraged to contact the Human Resources departments at their place of employment to explore tuition assistance. Many employers offer this as an employment benefit.
