Message from the Dean

If you're reading this, it means you've been admitted to Saint Louis University School of Law. We're glad to have you as a member of our large community of students and alumni.

At the School, we teach you the foundations of law, but you leave having learned so much more. We're proud of the fact that we can call ourselves a community here. It's a fact about which most of our students are proud, and most of our alums still fondly remember.

A legal education at Saint Louis University is a ticket to the many destinations where the lawyer has the power to make things happen — in the traditional law practice, in government, in business and in our society at large. The lawyer has the authority entrusted to only a very few in our society, along with the opportunity for a most satisfying lifestyle. What more could one ask for?

This site has been created to assist you in your transition to law school. Whether you're coming to us straight from undergraduate school, after several years of work in the professional world, or from a nontraditional background, you're sure to find the information best suited to your needs and interests.

I encourage you to ask questions and get as much information as you can about the School of Law. I hope to see you in the halls!

Jeffrey E. Lewis
Dean and Professor of Law
