Whatever way you envision spending your spare time,
The St. Louis Metropolitan area has a way to meet your imagination.
There is much to offer in this bustling city with a welcoming community
one can only find in the great mid-west. St. Louis has something
for everyone and most activities and events are within a short distance
of campus. Come visit and find out for yourself what St. Louis has
to offer.
You will find an unlimited range of options for evening and
nightlife. Several areas around campus have great restaurants
such as the Hill, Soulard and the Central West End, for all
tastes in all price ranges. After dinner you can enjoy live
music at dozens of locations in the city whether you like rock,
jazz, blues, classical or country or something more eclectic.
Or maybe sitting down for a quiet dinner isn't your style. St.
Louis offers several hot spots in the Loop, Clayton and Downtown
areas where standing-room only crowds gather to dance and socialize.
Perhaps you want to be entertained? Take advantage of St. Louis'
concert bars, theaters and comedy clubs for nationally known
live acts. Participate in seasonal events, such as Mardi Gras
and Strassenfest, Octoberfest and the St. Patrick's Day parade.
St. Louis has some of the best recreational facilities in the
nation. City parks, museums, cultural centers, and athletic venues
offer a full range of opportunities for students to get in a work
out by running, playing tennis, playing basketball, softball,
rollerblading, even snow skiing. You can check out the work of
new and exciting artists, see a new movie, shop in any one of
several St. Louis malls or shopping districts or just soak up
the sun and play a game of Ultimate Frisbee. And while in St.
Louis, try a legendary frozen custard concrete or two.
Sports? Take your pick. St. Louis has Major League baseball
with the National league St. Louis Cardinals, professional football
with the St. Louis Rams, national hockey with the Western Conference
St. Louis Blues and NCAA Conference Division 1 college basketball
with Saint Louis University's Billikens. Enough said.
